Have you ever tried to take on your wellness journey alone?
It can feel like you’re on a path with no clear direction. You do the workouts, change your diet, and try all the wellness trends, but something is still missing.
The lost piece? Community.
Having people who understand your struggles and encourage your growth is important.
Today, I want to focus on why keeping a strong support group is beneficial for healing, and on how finding the right people and places can help you feel better and grow.
If you have a health issue or need a friendly nudge, being with supportive people around you matters. They can give you the strength to keep pushing on.
“Spending time with my mom and talking about our childhoods and where we are now was just so good. They were magical, high-vibe days.”
Jen Heller
Surrounding yourself with people who believe in you can turn things around. They help keep you motivated and on track when things get hard.
My mom and I always go on an annual mother-daughter trip. This year, we went to Bayfield, Wisconsin, a harbor town in the scenic north woods on the shores of Lake Superior.
Whenever I go on these trips with my mom, we always find a way to build a deeper understanding of each other. It’s a special time for us to reminisce about old memories, and chat about family heritage, our childhoods, and our current situations. I also share some goals with her.
Mom and I agree, our favorite part of the trip was our afternoon on Madeline Island. We took the ferry over, stopped at Tom’s Burnt Down Cafe then drove to the Town Park. Words can’t describe how unbelievably beautiful and peaceful the beach there is. We spent the afternoon floating face-up in the water, soaking it all in. It was so serene and perfect. If you ever have the chance to visit the island, bring a chair and your favorite book, and spend the day. It’s one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever experienced.
The icing on the cake is the stunning full moon over the lovely waters of Lake Superior.
It is a fabulous week – sipping coffee in the morning, browsing local shops, reading and writing in my journals. This trip made me feel inspired, recharged, and ready to work on my goals. I am so grateful for intentional time with my Mom.
Attending group classes, workshops, or retreats centered on health and personal development can be very meaningful. These are places where people with similar goals and desires come together and lift each other.
A few days after my trip with my mom, Mark and I went to West Palm Beach, Florida. We attended an event hosted by our amazing coaches Bob Burg, Kim Angeli, and Jeff West.
More than an event, it’s an experience. It was all about connecting, sharing, living in gratitude, and creating a sense of support.
I have some exciting projects coming up! Let me give you a quick rundown of what’s coming.
Next year is an exciting year for all of us! See you around…
