Another one of the sauna brands I get asked about—aside from Clearlight—is Heavenly Heat. So, I’ve put together this breakdown to compare Clearlight and Heavenly Heat and highlight some key differences. While I respect Heavenly Heat and appreciate their focus on chemical sensitivity, there are a few important distinctions to consider when choosing between them and Clearlight. Let’s dive in.
1. Clearlight’s hybrid carbon-ceramic heater system blends the best of both technologies, delivering deep infrared penetration, high efficiency, and optimal comfort. These heaters are strategically placed to maximize effectiveness while avoiding unnecessary energy waste. Dr. Raleigh Duncan, Clearlight’s CEO (and a personal friend), brings both an engineering background and expertise as a Chiropractor to sauna design. In developing Clearlight saunas, he sought input from various health practitioners, including Ayurvedic experts and Doctors of Oriental Medicine. Through this research, he learned that heaters should not be positioned at head level, as infrared heat travels in a direct, straight line, working to raise core body temperature from the inside out. Placing heaters above the head not only wastes energy but can also indicate a less efficient heating system. Heavenly Heat uses standard (not hybrid) infrared heaters, some of which are above the head.
2. Clearlight is a pioneer in low-EMF and low-ELF technology, leading the industry in minimizing exposure to electromagnetic fields. They were the first sauna company to develop proprietary shielding technology and have third-party verification of their results. Heavenly Heat does reduce EMF levels, but their technology isn’t as advanced or well-documented as Clearlight’s.
3. Both brands prioritize non-toxic materials, which is great. Clearlight saunas are your choice of Mahogany or North American Basswood. All woods are FSC Certified and sustainably harvested – no particleboard or veneer is used —making them a great choice for those looking for a clean detox environment. Heavenly Heat also avoids plywood and particleboard, but they use Poplar and Hemlock.
4. Clearlight comes loaded with modern wellness-focused features— a smart app for remote control, Chromotherapy lighting to enhance relaxation, and a Bluetooth sound system with Nakamichi speakers. This is so you can enjoy your music, guided meditations, podcasts, or Audible books while in the sauna. Heavenly Heat takes a minimalist approach and has no sound system.
5. Clearlight’s saunas have a sleek, modern aesthetic, making them a stylish addition to homes, wellness centers, and spas. They balance form and function beautifully. Heavenly Heat saunas are more utilitarian in design, prioritizing practicality over visual appeal. They get the job done but don’t have the same level of craftsmanship or elegance.
6. Clearlight offers a 100% limited lifetime warranty covering the entire sauna—including all parts and electronics. That’s a big deal and speaks to the confidence they have in their quality and durability. Heavenly Heat’s warranty covers only specific components for shorter durations- 10 years wood, 6 years electric components including heaters.
8. At Clearlight, the focus is always on you, the customer. Their goal is to provide exceptional service, honest guidance, and a stress-free experience, helping you choose the sauna that best fits your needs—without any pushy sales tactics. From pre-purchase questions to lifetime support, both Clearlight and I are here for you every step of the way.

At the end of the day, both brands have their strengths, but Clearlight stands out with its superior warranty, advanced heater technology, EMF shielding, and premium features.
